Welcome to the forum.
Nothing specific with E9x 330D. For a vehicle >250,000km's then the DPF will require expenditure. If the vehicle has regular log book maintenance then it's just normal PPI. The 'D' won't give you any reason to visit these forums. |

Will buy something around the 80-90k mark for mileage. Most seem to have been serviced every 10k.

I've come across a few 330d sedans that have the automatic airconditioning option fitted (S534A).
I looked at one recently that wasn't fitted with S534A (according to the decoder), yet it has climate control AC. I had assumed that automatic air conditioning and climate control were the same thing. Was I wrong? Can you have one without the other? How accurate are these decoded options list? Might they miss something from time to time? |

Why are you getting a D and not a 335i?
I'm sure the 330D is great but with the 335i there is a whole new world to explore. |

d is good for a daily, nothing beats a silky smooth petrol engine revving all the way to the redline and the exhaust rumble!

335i is really really efficient for highway driving but really bad if you are putting around. I think I used to get around 7.4l /100km on the highway.
N54 also has good torque at low revs ~ 1300RPM. So also worth considering. Though as you say 330d should be more efficient again. |

The definition of "efficient" is obviously a variable.
7L/100k - city 4.8L/100k - highway It seems that the definition of "torque" is also a variable. |

Indeed - have to admit that owning the 320d has been a revelation around what's possible with the diesel vs petrol engines.
Think of the 330d as driving more like an old school V8, but with amazing fuel economy. |

I second the Ds economy. Mine is only a 320D but the economy is more than double my 2006 100series landcruiser diesel.
The Bimmer has been returning 5.2-5.8 l/100km calculated (not off the in car display). |

Cant agree More.
As a previous owner of a 335i, I have no regrets changing over to the 330d. I smoke them all the time. The 335i is no match for the launch of the 330d. It launches like its connected to a rubber band.I have flashed the tranny and a few other mods and my opponents with all this JB4 and cold air induction systems are always shocked to find out that they have been smoked by a DIESEL. I am now at 160,000km and never had a single issue. Great Buy to be had
