Front sunroof drain exit location?
I have an awful leak in my 09 e92 335. This appears to be a sunroof leak and I have had no real luck in finding the A pillar drain on this car...
Was hoping someone could do a solid and give me a hand here, as its driving me crazy!! The drain, is this the front or rear fender? Like I said, I have been looking for this thing for days, behind both the front and rear liners and cannot find them anywhere.... Looks like it could possibly be under the car also? Jeez, there is not alot of information online for this so any input would be amazing!! |

The tube is behind the sound deadening from the inside at the rear of the car.(well I saw picture of it there somewhere) The other ytube post should work for the front. (back about 2 entrys) Both tubes in front and back have the strange plug at the bottom that can easily become clogged with debris. I guess a screen would to?!? There is a drain at all 4 corners of the sunroof I think with them going to the related 4 corners of the car. Last edited by ctuna; 12-19-2018 at 05:38 PM.. |

Don't know about your specific year or model, but on my 09' E92 the front sunroof drain exits are located coming out of the body of the car, behind the fender, back near the door. Is this the front or rear fender. where does he mean behind? The wheel well, phycially behind the fender? etc, not sure how to make this out. On DS you will need to remove rear inner fender liner to see it, on PS I need to remove both the rear inner liner, & the windshield washer tank (no big deal - 1 bolt & it slides out toward the front) I will look back into the wheel wells tomorrow and see if I have better luck. |

Its the chassis that is the issue . Doesn't matter which motor
for water drains. Actually its probably pretty similar between most chassis to . There is another pretty good one on the E93 for drains on ytube. |

Late update, it was the sunroof drains being clogged... I found them under the door seam, had to remove some of the underbody protection to get to them, just like the video I linked... They where really clogged, took about 10 minutes each, just squishing them and getting all the soot and dirt out.
Have not had a problem since cleaning both sides of the car!! Cheers! |
