Unable to re-installing front headlight level sensor to control arm
I installed my coilovers and had to pop out the sensor that attaches to control arm.
Looks like this Now no matter how hard I push it into it won't lock it at all. I even tried with pliers. Anyone had issues with it? Should I get a new rod assembly? |

Yeah, no matter how I varge on it it won't stay in place. I hammered a flat screw driver to remove it maybe I broke a piece and I don't know...
Such a simple piece that I'm struggling with so frustrating. My headlights are aiming way to low and I'm pretty sure it's because of this. I even tried to use needle nose or plier grips and it won't stay. |

Light pointing down will def be due to the sensor.... there is only one correct way to install it
take a look at this Narwl ... may or may not help, but at least it will show you how it is suppose to be positioned.. apparently there are two sensors on the 2011 ?? |

Be sure it's seated into the groove on the arm before you clamp it down. It can be a bit of a pain, just double check how it sits and then squeeze the ends with a plier and it should lock in place.

This is one of those situations where a hose clamp plier might be more effective.
I used needle-nosed pliers last time and your goal is really to "pull" that female side over the male until it can latch into place. IIRC, some DIY guides had you unscrewing it from the arm of the leveler instead so you would just leave that part on. |

unplug it until you get it fixed.
will return your headlights to the center of the vertical travel. i've had a leveling sensor error for 6 months because I'm lazy. |

Quote:
Last time I only clamped it most I could it was still not popping into place but it stayed there so I did the same now. Guess I'll see how long it lasts in place Quote:
I tried so hard with 3 different pliers and it won't stay. I feel it click into place then I let go and it lets go. I think I chipped at it when I took it of maybe. I place it in place as most I could, should stay in place since last time it did. If it lets go again I guess I'll replace the lower piece, seems to be only 10$. |

Just gave it a go, it's in the groove, pushing it with my fingers I hear and feel it click into place but it won't stay. If I use pliers same thing happen. I suppose I really did damage the tab maybe.
