How much can the DCT clutch take before it starts slipping?
I have a 09 335i m sport DCT and want to modify it, does anyone know how much a standard bhp/torque DCT clutch can take before upgrading?
Thanks Last edited by Bigal1987; 01-23-2020 at 06:20 AM.. |

Clutches will slip long before it gets damaged as long as the fluid is kept topped up. I'm 3 years on GC turbos and 2 years on stockers with meth at 23 psi. Clutches aren't even slipping. Must be 720bhp.

I've been running around 450-500 WHP for a while now and will be running around 600-650 WHP this year and no problems yet.

one important thing is the tune- your dct trans will last a lot longer if you have a flash that raises the torque limits, versus just a piggy back like the jb4

Don't limit your search to just 335i cars. BMW put this dct in A LOT of their cars. Stock clutch packs will be fine for anything under 650 tq. Past that you'll have to invest in some aftermarket ones.

+100k KM stage supah dupah..
I do use good oils and never beat him before proper operational temps… And, better to drive in sport mode, the shift is firmer with less slip.
