http://www.metropolitandetail.com/

they do lots of high-end exotics. i've seen some ferraris, lambos, CGT, SLR, etc, etc...
they have lots of options. guy like me is just fine with their regular exterior or full detail but i've seen one black CGT there for days and get it pampered with 6k+ wax... (god only knows how much that would cost...)
they give you loaner too. tell david with gray 335i coupe sent you.

Mirrorworks detail is apparently shutting down: http://www.mirrorworksdetail.com.

Anyone know anything about this place they seem to recommend?
http://www.northwestautosalon.com/

I'm looking for someone to remove the swirls the previous owner put in my finish.

Thanks,
Jed

Ha ha...that would be me! Kidding of course, since I don't have a shop, and oh yah, I don't even detail for a living, but imho I have the best detailed black car I've ever seen in person.

All kidding aside, I didn't help you with a shop, but have you ever considered learning how to do it yourself? I actually took a couple of classes 2 years ago at Griot's headquarters in fife, which included everything from wash and dry basics, paint prep, product info, and how to use a orb. It takes some time obviously, but I'm happy I don't have to rely on a outside source.

I went to a car show earlier this year and they were giving out Mirrorworks Detail vouchers to the guy who has the cleanest car. It went to an Aston DB9. Too bad they're closing down now.

Mirrorworks ==> Northwest Auto Salon

So I dropped my car off at NW auto salon tonight. As I mentioned, the previous owner put some swirls in the car. NAS is what Mirrorworks became. Apparently the owner threw in the towel and sold to one of his detailers -- a guy named Blake. Anyhow, Blake walked me through their whole process and I'm pretty excited. He seemed very much into it. I'll have some before and after pix for you soon.

Here's what I sprung for:

Enthusiasts Detail
Time required: 8-10 hours
Cost: $325

Details:
Our most popular detail! Recommended as a bi-annual treatment, this is a very comprehensive package. This treatment was designed for the hard core enthusiast; customers who demand the most from their car's performance and finish. The full Menzerna line is used to remove unsightly swirl marks, micro-marring, light etching, holograms and light scratches. The end result is an extremely brilliant, deep and glossy finish that with our sealant will last for 4-6 months depending on vehicle storage, weather and mileage.
  • 24 Step - Hand wash over the entire vehicle, wheels, arches, and door jams.
  • Full paint and window decontamination with Clay Bar treatment (removes embedded road grime, tar, paint splatter).
  • Vehicle is hand dried using microfiber towels and synthetic absorber towels.
  • 2 - Stage machine polish with Menzerna (Ceramic Clearcoat polish used on vehicles with the new Cerami-Nanoparticle Clearcoat) to remove residual protection, remove paint defects, restore brilliance and shine.
  • A synthetic sealant (your choice of Menzerna, Klasse, Rejex, Collinite) applied over paintwork, headlights and rear lights.
  • All chrome and stainless steel cleaned and polished.
  • Painted wheels receive a coat of Klasse Sealant Glaze sealant and Polished wheels will be polished with a metal polish that contains a protectant.
  • Tires dressed with a non-splatter, non-oily dressing.

Mirrorworks detailed my car a couple months ago. Great work, and Blake's a cool guy. I'm glad he's sticking with it.

Just got my car back, and wow! I have a monaco blue 330i, and although I had loved the deep blue, I feel like I fully understand it now. There is a purple in there I was never aware of before. All my swirls are totally gone.

Blake took before and after photos, but he won't have them for me for a few weeks. When I get them I'll post for you guys -- I didn't know what a great color I had!

I kinda agree with Normtrum. If you detail your car at least once a year - for that money, you can purchase your own kit and do it yourself. I got all my stuff from Detailed Image and they were great.

It takes a while and yes you have to put in effort, but the kit and materials pay themselves off in one detail you would pay for at a shop, plus you get the satisfaction that the car looks the way it does because of your own effort. The detailer's section here in e90post is great and can answer all your questions, you can't screw it up.. lol

Now if you got heavy swirls, deep scratches or need serious repair - you should spring for a professional IMO.

It boils down to Mirrorworks now being NorthWest Auto salon. They do great work and excellent customer service I highly recommend them.

That looks perfect! It's so hard to keep the swirls out of the paint even when OCD handwashing.

Park Place in Bellevue is consistently well reviewed for their detailing, which is separate from their car wash service. They did a great job wet sanding my friend's Lexus a few weeks ago to remove lime deposit damage.
