Depends on your relationship with your dealer. If your an ass to them..they can tell you to pound sand. My dealership works with me. I have an issue with my car right now..and we are tracking it down. We think something went loose on my left front coilover (after trying lots of other things - sway bar bushings to name one). I think I need to take it to an independent shop now..since they dont want to futz with my PSS9 coilovers.

If you replace the stock suspension with C/O then the suspension warranty will be voided. The rest of the warranty should still be intact.

If you have an issue with a suspension related part it will be tough to get warranty (example: rear shock mount breaks)

Depending on your dealer, they might cite the coilover as 'evidence' of abusive driving for things such as extremely premature rear brake pad

If warranty coverage (and minimizing chance for warranty claim related hassle) matters to you, keep the car stock

I have had several engine services/repairs with coilovers, no issues. But I would assume anything suspension related or wheel bearing related etc would be voided.

Why do people keep asking about this. If you put a mod on be prepared to pay for fixes associated with it. Coilovers are a big change in your cars suspension. Don't mod it unless you can pay for the fix or get a Dinan setup. It is just that simple.

Yes, it voids the suspension warranty. I also had the BMW dealer install my coilovers so if I have any problems they at least warranty the installation. Further, my SA told me they would work with me if there is any suspension issues. The price was not bad because they had matched the installation price from a reputable independent BMW shop plus I got a free loaner.

Some dealers are willing to install them for you while others won't since it's not an OEM part. Just to note though: having a dealer install you coilovers does not mean that they will cover your suspension.

Having a dealer install means with they will charge out the butt!!

Yup. Then again, was there even a warranty for the suspension? I thought it's a wear and tear item?

Yea I think there is no warranty on the suspension, unless it wears out in like
<5,000 miles, then it would just be defective
