UPDATED: BMW Longterm Roadmap for Future Cars
STAY UP TO DATE ON THE LATEST @ BIMMERPOST: http://www.bimmerpost.com/future-bmw/
Some of these dates may be speculative, but are at the very least good approximations based on historical model scheduling and/or other information or rumors. Last edited by Moderator; 10-12-2009 at 12:29 AM.. |

Thanks for the info but something is out of whack.
A 3 year gap between the F10 5er and F12 6er doesn't seem likely..... Also historically, BMW delivers 7, 5, 6 then 3 series.... I hope the M1 thing is real.

Yea I think some of the dates refer to presentation date (press photos autoshows) and some of the dates refer to onsale dates, so I'd use this more as a general roadmap then an exacting ruler to follow

e92 face lift next year, he just didn't include it...
I think he clearly states not to take it too literally in his original post...

Well, according to an officiallly unofficial BMW-sourced product time line posted initially on a German car website, the X3 is getting re-done for 2011.

Thanks op.After looking at Audi's plans, I was looking forward to something like this for BMW.
I hope M1 is for real. And 1 series sedan....HMM...sounds cool!

everything looks good, but i am really about 1 series sedan, 1 series coupe is small as hell man, i can barely fit into that thing and i am wondering what kind "ridiculous" design they are going to come up with, i hope its not as ugly as the current 1 series !!! those headlights look UGLY!!

I'm doubting a lot of the dates, but still, interesting to speculate.

I think M X5 , M X6 , M7 , 1er tii , new Z9 maybe , more powerful current M5....aha yeah yeah yeah aha oh and check this out , long wheelbase X5 or possibly called the X7 , thats a first ever , X5 Lang veriosn or something which means two same cars , pure bullshit why dont they just make a new model thats differnt than the X5.. bmw = too slow , Im starting not to like u anymore because Im losing patience , its like u are building spaceships not cars but airplanes and helicopters , brands that were once shit like audi are overpassing u and giving u finger (RS6 R8 Q7) , ur slower , weaker ,uglier and smaller now...need more? they are even getting more exclusive and more expensive... u mother... |

when did the X3 be released? seems like one long ass time for it to be revamped. i just find it sad... the X3 NEEDS to be redone. it looks like a crashed 2006 X5.

Interesting logic here...so, the faster a car manufacturer releases new model means the better it is? X7 = elongated X5 = BS? Q7 = elongated Touareg = Porsche Cayenne = Golden? lol By the way: A3 = GTI = Rabbit = Jetta = TT = Scirocco = Tiguan = (go on and on...) A4 = Passat = Some Seat Just in case you don't know.

Discrpencies? There never was to be a production car of the M1 Hommage. This is merely a design study to celebrate 30 years of the M1 , there was no plans for production , especially in what was speculated on specifics for the production version. Why no production M1? Because BMW are not interested in Pissing competitions with our rivals and are more interested in future sustainance and stability thanks to our Efficient Dynamics programme. No 1er sedan. BMW will not introduce a sedan because of the damage that can be done of BMW four cylinder 3er sales in Europe in which four cylinder petrol and diesel models are big sellers in European markets. And the 1er will not interfere by not introducing a conventional sedan and touring variants. Z2 Roadster will be based off the next 1er platform and will have offer aswell as usual petrol and diesel engines a stand alone turbo charged four cylinder with mild hybrid technology. The aim is to have a BMW sports car in amongst the hybrids but to defy convention by offering something more unique and groundbreaking for customers. No X7. The X5 is sufficient enough in terms of space , performance and efficiency. BMW Gran Turismo - will be the flagship of the BMW division. The Audi A7 will be a direct competitor with the Mercedes CLS , The BMW and Audi are two different segments - Audi is for the mid level luxury segment and BMW will be for the upper luxury segment. The BMW will be the most expensive BMW on the market. |
