There are fuses for each door I believe.
Can you still open it manually?
Fuse Chart behind glove compartment rear wall.
Or in first link first two refernces.

Exact same thing happened to me recently. Especially weird in that I still could hear a click inside the door when I used the key fob. Nevertheless, it is the door lock actuator that needs to be changed.

It's not too expensive or difficult to do, though I had some difficulties because the M4 cap-head torx screw that holds the door handle carrier had rusted and seized. After stripping the head and extracting it, BMW doesn't sell a replacement for it so I had to find it through a metric hardware specialty firm (it's hex head now and stainless steel).

Opening up the old actuator, nothing is broken inside as is the usual culprit, so I cannot for the life of me understand how it works or why it failed. Nevertheless, it's good to have my door lock working automatically again!

Ditto, fuse on mine locked me out of the passenger door for a few weeks before I could replace it. Turns out this can happen when the locks put too much strain on the electrics as they sieze or die, potentially from silicone based lubricants I read somewhere. I replaced the fuse and hoped for the best, still working fine 2 years on
