Unhappy E93 top leak, told touchless car wash is a NO NO

I have a E93 convertible and if I take it through a touchless car wash, well its like I am being blasted by a water hose. Stealer says its normal for it to leak with the touchless car wash ?
A buddy in TX has a E93 and not a drop comes in when he runs it through the wash ( had the live demo a few months ago )
Yes it also leaks when it rains or I blast it with my water hose at home.

So who's E93 convertible can roll through the TCW and not get soaked ?
Thanks

Not my first convertible, just my first E93.
Most dealers say TCW is a NO NO, although the newer Mustang and VW vert do not leak with the TCW.

Just wondering before I snap on my dealership again over this car

You convertible is not supposed to leak, but it does state in the manual that under high pressure car wash, it MAY leak, but during rain is a BIG no no!

The cabin is air tight. It should never leak from rain. We've driven our car through a major storm and no water came in. With respect to a high pressure car wash, the water only leaks in at the END of a wash if a small deposit builds up at the front where the top and windshield meet. Just be proactive and towel it away as soon as you open the door after the wash. Its not that much water. If you're paranoid, condition the leather.

I hand wash mine, but nothing leaks when I do so, or when it rains.

You're stealer is full of it.

Agreed. Hand wash is the best. A high pressure wash can get water into any car coupe/vert if you aim it in the right direction.

I would have to say that the E93 cabin makes me so horny.

I get constant drips in multiple areas when it rains.
A water hose with anything than a soft spary is out of the question.

They would not give me any paperwork after having the car for another 3 days too, second time for them to check this issue.
There response was all E93's leak when you wash them at a car wash, esp a TCW

My dream car has turned into a nightmare and I have been nice and have simply asked them to fix it

Sorry to hear about your problem but I would ask them to check the rubber seals on the body and top. Try and localize the area so you can to help your SA.

It sounds like your Stealership may be holding back some info from you if they're not giving you paperwork... I would demand they make notes in the system. If they continue to be jerks, try another one.

My SC 430 had the same issue when I first took it to the automatic wash. I assumed the hard top was impervious to water. Nope. A little bit will build up at the wash and as soon as the dryers open the door immediately after the wash - drip.

Again, high pressure washses can get into any car if the nozze points in the right direction.

Gotta say that I am very impressed with how quiet the E93 cabin is compared to the SC.

My thoughts exactly
I expect a little leak form a TCW, not a flood

So lets here from those that have a E93

I wash my car weekly in a TCW all winter long and have never had a single leak. Occasionally, I will hand-wash it with a high-pressure sprayer in the winter, but I don't linger over the seams. Unless the TCW you have directs high-pressure spray over a period of time onto your car, I'm not sure I'd consider any leakage normal. I'm going by my own experiences over 3 different convertibles, but the hard-top should be the tightest.

Your situation sounds bad. I think you're just a victim of circumstance. Take it to the Stealership and demand they fix the seals. Your car should not leak in the rain and if you're having the degree of trouble you're claiming there should be some cabin noise when you drive.

The E93 has a superior cabin. Even better than the SLK from what I am told.
