DIY Fuel Injector Cleaning With Spray Can, Battery and Adapter
Hey everyone,
I will be swapping my fuel injectors to test if one of them is causing my misfire on my n52. I was thinking since I will be taking out the whole fuel rail anyways, why not clean all injectors. I will purchase a remanufactured fuel injector from FCP Euro for $38 (by GB remanufacturing) just in case mine was damaged so I could swap right away. So I came across a video where someone connects a spray cleaner to the injector through this adapter, and the connection side of the injector to a 12V battery (by pulsing it). Here is a video: The kit comes with a cable and the white adapter for $11 from Amazon. The spray cleaner costs about $4. If I end up doing it, I will also replace the upper and lower oring seals. Has anyone tried this before? I realize I could send them for professional cleaning, but everyone seems to be getting really good results out of this very simple and cheap solution. |

I have looked into this in the past. I believe we have 'smart injectors' and this will not work. I didn't look into it further after I bit the bullet and bought index 12s

I believe you are talking about the ones for the n54 engine that need coding as well. My engine is the n52 and these are more simple and plug and play.
