HK BMW E93
Hi guys
I just get my 1st BMW. I am from Singapore and need a little information from you guys in HK. I bought my car from Parallel importer. I did not buy from BMW agent in Spore. Parallel importer will self import their BMW which may come from different country and sources. I just reliase my E93 323 is meant for HK market and it comes with I drive and Sat Nav. What upset me, it does not have ipod integration and Bluetooth for mobile phone. Can anyone help me to check how much does this additional module cost in HK? |

Congrats to your E93!
I guess you don't necessary get the iPod kit from Hong Kong. You can check out this site for the sponsors or local shops in Singapore. Also, it is no harm to ask Singapore dealer for a quote first.

To install the Ipod and bluetooth it would cost US$2000+. For each E93 325 they sell, they can earn a profit up to US$50K. Their selling price is US$143K here for 325. I was in Melbourne 2 weeks ago and I check with BMW Australia that such integration would cost around US$800 but the cars there come these components as standard. So the spare part deparment do not have them as extra. If i get after market one it cost about US$900 and if original one does not cost much, i would prefer get the original parts. Could anyone in HK help me to check? |

Thank you for the info. How about the bluetooth? When i click the idriveto communication, they ask me to contact BMW HK. Do you know how much the bluetooth prepartion? I cant seem to find them at the web. For the ipod HK$2000 i think it is resonable price. |

I Got my BMW iPod Kit from the dealer, had to pay 85% on the top of that.. Couldn't wait and was worried to mess it up myself.
Paid HK$ 4,500 |

William; one thing sucks about the AUX, is that you have to always play with the ipod to get to your folder/music
With the integrated one, you can control your iPod from the steering wheel (wished I had an iDrive though) |

hi guys,
i tried using Spore original DVD map on my car. It does not work, i dont know why. It seems it is different format between Spore and HK GPS. Can anyone help me to send a copy of the HK DVD Navigation? I would like to test to make sure it works. I can give you my FEDEX account, all you need to do is help me to burn and call FEDEX to pick it up. Or anyone willing to help me to order the Ipod intergration from BMW HK? I can TT the money to you and you help me to ship through fedex. Thanks Happy New Year |

Sugi, where are you?
Why do you want to order the Kit from BMWHK if you are not in HKG. you'd better order it from Apple themselves and have it installed wherever you are |

I am in Singapore. My car is self import and it is HK specs of E93 323i. The ipod integration here cost alot. I just call BMW authorised here about the bluetooth intragtion. It cost about US$1200-1400. I heard with the ipod+bluetooth cost about US$2200. My idea is to the the original parts directly from oversea BMW and i will get my mechanic to install here. |

As for the mobile bluetooth. You need to check with your buyer if the car comes with the pre-installed cables. If no, that it will cost you a fortune to get these done by BMW. If your car came with the pre-installed cables. You can search for a 3rd party BT mobile for BMW. There are few that out perform the OEM one, and surely cheaper. I wanted to install that in my car, and since my car does not have the cables pre-installed. BMWHK asked for HK$22,000 for the whole kit... Yes you guessed right, I passed on that... not worth all these dollars |

From what I know (I am not a iDrive/Navi user), you can try to get a DVD for Singapore map which matches the same "system" of your iDrive system which is designated/coded as HK. The DVD should match the iDrive system then to be able to read/display the content.
If you don't want to try BMWSG, you can try exploring BMW Germany to get a copy of the compatible DVD for your HK E9x to use Singapore map DVD. My two cents.

The HK GPS system is totally different system from Spore model.
There is no way to make it work. I heard from a dealer that they may be able to reprogram it but till date there are no news it is successful. I am keen if anyone can copy me a HK DVD map. I just would like to see how it works with my car being in Spore. If there is any kind soul willing to burnt for me, i will give you my FEDEX account for shipping to me. Rgds |

Can you take some photos and upload here for sharing? I just think you need to change the map from HK to Sing that would be enuf, but really can't understand your meaning of dash board and boot as I understood that the iDrive's monitor is placed beside the dash board. |

Sugi> My suggestion to you is to give BMW Head Office an email and ask for technical assistance.
Firstly, there is a difference between the BUSINESS Navigation (6.5 inch screen) and the PROFESSIONAL Navigation (8.8 inch screen). The Professional Navigation was improved on all 3-series when the E90 LCI was launched but the Business Navigation remained the same. On the older Nav systems, the CD had to be loaded from the front, which made cars without the 6-stack CD either had to listen to the radio if they inserted the Nav disc and vice versa. I think the updated Professional Nav accounts for this by having a separate slot for the Nav disk in the boot. Back in Sydney, I had a E60 with the Business Navigation but the E60's disk didnt work with my E90's Professional Navigation (which came with a different disk version), nor did it work on a Mini Cooper S loan car (although the Nav disk clearly stated that it was suitable for both BMW and Mini)! Good luck!
