I've been away from the islands for about 2 years now, born and raised in Pearl City. Can't say I miss how expensive it is there, but I do miss the food. Bratwurst and schnitzel can't beat a good plate lunch...i crave orange chicken from L&L from time to time.

Isn't it more expensive in Germany than Hawaii? There's probably a lot of good chinese restaurants out there where you can get orange chicken, but I know what you mean, it's not a "plate lunch."

The cost of things here depend on what you're buying and the USD/EUR exchange rate. Fresh items like fruit/vegatables/milk are alot cheaper here than hawaii, even with a crappy exchange rate. And buying a BMW through military sales is cheaper too.
