Suspension upgrade recommendations
I have a e92 335xi with 107,000 miles. I bought a brand new set of tires (staggered) however it seems like it's time to refresh my suspension setup. Even when I went to install my tires today from a local indy, the mechanic pointed out how my front end is completely shot and I need new shocks as well. I'm installing the new tires anyway because I can't stay with my old tires for there's no thread left on them and the car is my daily driver. My question to everyone is since it's time to change my control arms and struts, should I just invest in coilovers or aftermarket struts and shocks to transform my ride or just replace with oem parts? If i get coilovers do i still meed to change my control arms? It is my daily driver but i think it's time where i start modding and enjoy my car. I'm open to spending on the car but it would have to be gradually and step by step as i'm short on money at the moment. Any recommendations and advice would be appreciated.

if youre on a budget i would do
front tension bushing, inspect others subframe bush inserts B6/b8 mono tube dampers Last edited by 335i54n; 08-15-2023 at 02:45 PM.. |

I agree with @335i54n. If you are on a tight budget, I would stick to the B6's, though you will want to get the installation kits like what FCP sells. They come with all of the other pieces-parts you need for installing new struts/shocks.
My current 335i and last two e9x's got B4's and I am totally happy with those decisions. I also have a 335is in FL, but I will probably do B6's on that one. That car is low enough and I am old, so I don't need anything more aggressive. |

xi, cant use m3 front upgrades. lower control arm dont really go bad on xi, you only need the front lower tension bushing

I appreciate everyone's advice! So there's a chance I might not need to replace the control arms and just change the front lower tension bushing? An indy that was replacing my tires told me my front lower control arms
are really done though. Should I propose to him the idea of just replacing the front lower tension bushing? |

Just replace the whole arm. It costs more in labor to press in a new bushing than it does to just buy the whole arm, plus then everything is fresh.
