DME No Power\No Comms
Hey Guys,
Long time member haven't posted in awhile as the car has been running perfect until this. So the DME was upgraded to MSD81 a couple years ago but I had to send it back per smog since the smog shop (CA) could not read through the OBD2. I reinstalled the DME and the car started fine no hiccups or stumbling until about 30 seconds later when it completely died. I realized the DME was not getting power so I checked the smaller connector pins and only found power in Pin #1, no power on Pin#2 and #3 and I believe Pin# 5,6,7 are ground. So I checked all the fuses in the DME box along with the fuse in the little black box for the DME and they checked out fine. I checked to see if there was power coming from where the DME fuse plugs in the little black box and there was no power. So next thing I did was check and test the blue relay for the DME which was functioning normally as there was adequate power and the relay clicked. So this brings me here as I've ran out of ideas. I appreciate any insight and help. Thanks!

Sure, it's a 2007 N54 335i 140k miles. It wasn't flashed at the time it was stock. VIN#WBAWB73577PV80091. Let me know if you need any further information. Appreciate it!

You're awesome, thanks Charles! So I did check k6300 I'm not sure if it was Pin#2 but it was connected to the only red wire which had power fluctuating at 10-12. I checked the other 3 pins and they did not have any power.
Connected to k6300 is the blue relay which I checked and it seemed to be functioning with power to the pins and a clicking noise when connected to a battery. Any ideas from here? Appreciate you looking into this!

Got it! That makes a lot of sense. I'll go source a new relay and go from there. I'll check back in once everything is installed. Thanks again for your help!
