N53 325i - Inertia fuel cut off?

Hello,

My car suffered a very (no damage) small bump to the rear, and now the next time I've gone to start it, I'm getting nothing. No crank even.

Do these cars have an inertia fuel cut off switch? If so, where is it located?

Other options after some googling seem to be fuel pump fuse (which looks fine), the large relay on the fuse box (I pulled this, it was warm when I did, replaced it back in and hasn't fixed it), or a starter motor issue. Would be an odd coincidence though as I've never had starter issues with the car
Or it's triggered an immobiliser, if anyone knows how that is reset that would help too.

Thanks

No the is no inertia cut off switch. Does the ignition turn on? Are there any fault codes? What is the battery voltage?

Since posting this I've learned about the battery safety terminal with an explosive charge to disconnect the positive battery cable in the event of a crash (in place of a cut off switch). I've just been out to check it and looks completely normal, everything is still connected.

The ignition comes on, I have power inside the car, heaters, headlights etc. but I get nothing when I clutch down and try to start the engine

I only have the code A0B4 which is just telling me the starter failed to crank, not specific enough to work out the fault. (Resetting this didn't change anything)

Don't have a multimeter to hand today but I can get one tomorrow morning to check the battery voltage.

When you get the multimeter, you can check for power to the starter solenoid by disconnecting the connector x60556, then have someone try to start the vehicle while you check for voltage at the connector. If there is power there while trying to start the car, you know your starter is dead.

Update: I checked the battery voltage, it was at 11.9V, not enough to run the starter, so I replaced it. Car still not starting.

Is it possible to reach the X60556 connector without removing the intake manifold?

the BST will look like connected but will be disconnected internally
you can check if positive from battery come to underhood positive terminal
also the best thing is to read codes

Update: Starter is dead - voltage comes through to the connector here but starter motor itself doesn't respond. Getting replaced later this week. Thanks for the help.

Funny how one thing happens and something completely different is broken....

This is an appropriate spot for a funny story....

Long long ago my mom was nose first at grocery store and backing out, hit a passing car. Guy stops gets out spends way too much time looking over his car finely he walks up and says "Maam I'm just not sure about how to say this but Thanks for running into me today... You popped a dent out of my rear corner panel. You saved me quite a bit of time and money"

Never in a million years could that ever happen again... lol
