Question UPDATE EAC radiator Sensor re-use / E90 N51

Hello: So while replacing the upper radiator hose, of course the radiator broke when it attaches, plastic !!! anyway, got a new aftermarket radiator that came with the EAC sensor port but not the sensor.

I was able to remove the sensor without breaking the probe (not sure this is the right term) that surprisingly came out totally un damaged.
But of course the two clips that attach the sensor to the radiator did break, so I managed to re attach the sensor with zip ties (yes, I should have been patient and glue it with high temp loctite).

Anyway, it is done now...still have to finish the job (waiting on the overflow hose).

Do you guys think it will still work considering the sensor did not break or I am looking at having to buy a sensor too?

I will keep posted on what happens once I finish the job, fingers crossed I will not need a new sensor.

UPDATE: Worked perfectly fine.

I was lucky I was able to remove the sensor without damaging the probe. I understand sometimes the probe is also glued, if you have a similar job, try removing carefully. If probe is not damaged you can re-use (at your own risk at least it did in my case) and re-glue with some recommended hi temp glue. I did not do this as I was not sure it would work I hope it stays with the zip ties (I would use some metal ones if possible). Radiator aftermarket, just get the one with the sensor port if your car is SULEV. Hope this helps.

I think it will probably work fine, I think there is cheaper aftermarket sensor available now too...

This is the replacement sensor that BMW says doesn't exist separately.
