Built an iOS app specifically for 335i owners — looking for beta testers [N54/N55]

Hey everyone,

Frustration with generic OBD2 apps is what started this. After seeing too many N54 and N55 owners get caught off guard by failures that were likely building up in the data for weeks, I realized the tools available just aren't built for these engines. They have no context for what normal looks like on an N54 or N55, no understanding of the failure patterns this community has been documenting for years. You get raw numbers and you're on your own.

So I've spent the last several months building NeuroDrive — an iOS app built exclusively for the 335i, with separate N54 and N55 profiles because these are genuinely different engines with different failure signatures.

It monitors the things that actually matter for our cars:

- HPFP behavior and wear patterns
- Water pump health
- Rod bearing stress indicators
- Wastegate behavior
- Valve cover / PCV flags
- Oil filter housing

Rather than dumping raw data on you, it converts everything into a simple health score and monitors for problems that are building up before something actually fails — then notifies you on that specific component's health in plain English.

Still in development. Aiming for beta in about a month.

Looking for 335i owners willing to test it early and give direct feedback — what works, what doesn't, what's missing. That's genuinely it. No surveys, no commitments. Just use it on your car and tell me what you think.

All you need is an iPhone and a BLE OBD2 adapter (Vgate iCar Pro or OBDLink CX work great).

If you're interested, reply here and I'll send you the sign-up link directly. First 50 beta testers get free access during testing.

Happy to answer any questions about how it works or where it's headed.

I'd be interested in testing the app out.

This app sounds like it would be great for an amateur like myself to see the health status of my car. Especially when it converts the raw data into simple terms that I can understand.

I also already have an iPhone and the OBDLink CX.

What about us cool people with Androids and Thor OBD adapters?

Jokes out of the way... How exactly are you detecting water pump health, especially when its an electrical failure where the total failure can occur at what appeard to be completely random interval.

Also what exactly do you mean by "oil filter housing" are you suggesting you can determine when there is an oil filter housing leak electrically thru OBD? Same goes for "valve cover / PCV flag"

Yeah what is a rod bearing stress indicator... Are you just gonna keep a counter of how many high load, low oil temp pulls the user does lol

The use of your em dash and overall flow of your post indicates ai usage, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but just makes it look more suspicious

It sounds like nice features. I would be interested in how you determine the above mentioned parameters.
Since only the turbo story is applicable for 335, why not expand to n53 engines? They have the same HPFP / injector issues as the other engines

I would be interested in testing it out and give feedback

I like how OP came in, made all these crazy claims of stuff they can detect, offered to answer any questions people had... the ghosted us.

I guess they weren't really willing to answer any questions we had eh?
