Look who dropped this at my door!
MANY, MANY THANKS to forum member Sui for getting these for me!! I'll put those on as soon as I get the chance to wash the salt and dirt off my bumper. |

No modding needed. I did plug the light in. The angel eyes act like (replace) the city light bulbs in the old high bean reflector. This is a bit let-down because I was hoping the angel eyes will automatically act like DRL. Not the case. The angel eyes will be on when the headlight is on or when the switch is at position 2.

I finally got them installed yesterday. What a royal pain! I don't have time to write a DIY but there are plenty of information you can use. Here are some lessons learned (the hard way)
1) don't underestimate the job. For me, it took 4 hours +. Most of the time was spent trying to figure out things. Consult both E90 and E92 bumper removal guide to get an idea of the work involved. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...bumper+removal http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80133 There is one critical step (step 2/ pic2) not explained very clearly in the first guide, which was discussed later in the thread but also laid out very clearly in the E92 guide as step 11. I'll try to explain it better with pictures. 2) allow enough time. If your wife wants to use the car to go to the mall in the afternoon, then this is not a good day to do this mod. 3) wear gloves. Or your hands would appear to have just fought off 10 wild cats. 4) protect the lens. Accident does happen. I scratched one of the headlight and almost wanted to kill myself. 5) if you have the cold weather package - the headlight washer is added trouble. I broke one of the tabs holding the cylinder and have to cable tie it. Also, without first uncliping the cap, the bumper won't come off. The trick is to pull the bumper GENTLY out, then use some plastic tool to pry on the cap just enough so you can hold firmly to it; then put the bumper back (while still holding the cap/nozzle). Now you can unclip the cap and all will be ok. 6) if you want to change the angel eye bulb to something whiter, do it before you install the lights. The access to the angel eye bulb is from the same hatch as highbeam. Trouble is, from driver side, the airbox completely denies access to the hatch. The result does look fantastic. I went to grocery shopping and on the same lot there is a 328 with US xenon and another 328 with US halogen. Mine looks the best (of course). I will post pictures in a few hours. |
