I think they lost the metal key but have the remote, correct? Or vice versa? Either way my SA tells me they make 10 keys per car. They give you two at the sale and keep the other eight for times like this. If you lose all 8 (epic fail) then you have to get all the locks rekeyed.

I don't how much the key costs but know BMW I'm guessing $250. As far as the remote goes, yes. A remote can be paired with any car at the dealership.

I don't think a dealership can take a key from another car and make it work with yours.

You have to order a new key. I just did that. When I got it, it was ready to work with my car, I didn't have to do anything to it. Even the metal piece was already cut and ready to go.

Also, you can order each part of the key separately. If you still have the metal emergency piece, you can just order the electronic part. That's save you around $30.

You can get them from eBay.

If you have comfort access, the dealership CANNOT reprogram your key to work with CA. Each car is set at a certain frequency, which matches the VIN. Those keys have to be ordered from BMWNA through the dealership.
