Intermittent Control Message 06 330i

Last night, I got a control check message stating "Front left parking lamp malfunction."

I took a look at my lights and all were working fine. I ignored the message and it goes away for about 10 minutes then comes on again, with the BING noise scaring the shit out of me, driving alone in the middle of the night with no radio.

Now it seems to come and go every 10 minutes. When it turns on, I go to CHECK CONTROL MESSAGES via IDrive and it shows "Front left parking lamp malfunction." but visual check shows nothing wrong. Then it goes away and IDrive shows "All Check Ok", then 10 minutes later it turns on again.

First question, what bulb is the parking lamp? Is the the amber color, the angel eyes?

Second question, why would this be intermittent?

Third question, I noticed my non-xenon inner lights never turn on, even when high beams are on. It looks like the xenon outer lights are both low and high beams. Are the inner lights the parking lights?

Thanks in advance!

The xenon headlights are both for low and high beam. The inner halogen lights are for "flash to pass" and DRL's. If those work, I would think it may be the amber lights. Double check to see if they are all working.

Thanks guys. I looked at all the lights and they are fine and tested the hazard lights and they look fine too. Of course, the error is now not showing.

Next time when the error pops, I'll turn my hazards and look at them while the error still shows.

Thanks all.

Great. All lights work even when the error is dinging its head off.

I've got a rear brake job at the dealers in a couple weeks, gonna let them diagnose the issue but they say if the error doesn't pop while they're looking, there's not much they can do?!?

Did you change your angel eye bulbs for aftermarket ones?
I kept getting this error with the RD angel eye led bulbs,
Finally had enough and actually liked the stock look better, The contrast of the white Xenon bulb with the yellowish ring I think looks better than xenon match angels,

But when I took the RD angels out and put the stock bulbs back I never got another error message on the iDrive

Yes, I do have RD eyes. I swear they both looked fine every time I checked but now the front left one is off.

Thanks for the help. Going back to stock.

Mine were also both fine,
Both lit up fine, but I just got tired of the error messages,
and it wasn't all the time Id get the error message,

Since swapping back, Never happened again
