Cokeing Intake on DI engines?

Curious to hear people's opinion on the condition of the intake valves on that side. Do you guys think they're getting caked with crude since they're not geting bathed in gasoline to keep them clean?

Do you have a picture of the valves?

Sorry, I didn't want to give the impression that I was having that problem (I have a 330 afterall), but I wanted to know if people were experiencing a lot of build up due to the use of direct injection. I don't think it would ever get as bad as some of the older VW diesel engines (carbon particulate + oil vapor+ condensation on intake = crude). I figure it has to be happening on these gasoline engines just not as bad.

Yes, I can easily see how they can get buildup on the valves since they never get washed with fuel on a DI engine. Plus the N54 seems to have a lot of blow-by gasses, which only adds to the problem.

If you do a search, you can see some have tried SeaFoam and had good results. You just suck it in through the vacuum hose controlling the diverter valves. That's really about the only way to get them clean short of taking off the intake mani and cleaning them.
