Every once and a while there is one on ebay from recycling yards... I would contact a car yard, many can search other yards that are in a database. That being said it probably won't be easy...
Good luck |

Well I thought of that but not knowing what im buying is a little discomforting to know. I have found two websites that I could buy the motor from
http://www.actionsalvage.com/car-auto-engine.asp http://www.qualitybmwparts.com/ Both places have 2 each between 6k-8k with less then 10k miles. Its just I know nothing of these two companies and this is a lot of money. But it definately is a whole lot less then the 21k I was quoted at BMW. |

Seach eBay, a number of recycling yards have various long blocks up for sale on there. Also contact LKQ, they have an extensive BMW inventory. Best of luck...
Oh and build it this time, low compression forged internals ftw.
