"Clear title" FTL. Though I think CarFax still shows it has been lemoned in another state even if the current state doesn't carryover the brand on the new title.

Well, that's actually true. Lemons get fixed by BMW before they are resold so there shouldn't be anything wrong with it mechanically right now. It was lemoned for HPFP, so just throw a new HPFP in there and its good to go (for a short while ).

I knowingly bought a HPFP lemon from California. It didn't have the sticker. My Georgia title doesn't say lemon on it.

I bought my 335i in TX, It was a dealer buy-back from California somewhere. Had the HPFP replaced at 6400 miles. Somewhere in the Bay Area if i remember correctly. I was told that had it been re-titleed in CA it was a lemon... however, i got a clear TX title.
The reason i post is that i got the car with 16k on the odometer, now at 26.5k with no problems. I got the car, sports package, premium package, iPOD, Bluetooth, everything except iDrive/nav for only 26,000. Yes, bilud date 03/07, in-service date 09/07 with 16k on it for 26,000. I still have just at 2 yrs warranty and service from BMW. When i lived in CO they took it in and did the annual service and all, no charge. when i got a flat, they towed me, again no charge... I even had a BMW center pulled up the car service history for me, before i purchased the car. I bought it from a small high end private dealer who was suprised i knew about the HPFP issue on my car. I knew the issues... i knew the risk. I don't think this is a situation of buyer beware really... i really believe that if someone is wiling to take the risk then its an opportunity to get a great car on the cheap. PLUS BMW now covers the fuel pump for 10yr 100k. the dealer i got mine from had 4 just like it... all from CA, all with at least one HPFP repaced all under 30k. I have 2 other cars and 2 bikes, so this was just a tinker toy/road trip car; not my primary means of tranportation. For those of us who this is your daily driver this may be a bit more than a little risk. I also think that the fuel you guys get in CA is crap (due to high ethanol levels mostly) and may help further aggrivate the HPFP problem. Emissions out there are pretty tough.

The dealer I bought it from put them on. Figured it was only fair (and I didn't have the originals).
