Tire Pressure (pression de pneu automobile, auto reifendruck
There has been talk in the U.S. that in response to a Firestone tire lawsuit in the late 1990's auto manufacturer have recommended higher than normal tire pressures (psi/bar) for their cars. I would like to know the recommended pressures for your BMW's in order to compare to what we're asked to use in the United States.

I experimented quite some time with tire pressure on the 18" RFT of my old E91.
The recommended tire pressure (on door pillar, manual seems to differ) was 2.2 bar in front and 2.5 in the back. I settled for 2.3 front and 2.4 rear. I experienced less tramlining and more grip. Some others here in Germany recommend even more pressure in front and less in the back.

Dante mentioned 2,2 bar front and 2,4bar rear. And don't forget, BMW never used Firestone. So don't worry about it
