325i chrome exhaust tips?

Hi quick question.

i am looking at a used e90 325i. This particular car i was looking at did not have the chrome, stainless steel exhaust tip that i am seeing in other cars. was this an option on the 3 series? or should all of them have it.

it currently only has the thin rusted dual tip that looks pretty ugly, is there something i should be concerned with?

325's and 2007-2008 328's didn't have the chrome or aluminum exhaust tips. So no reason for concern, and you can add aftermarket tips if you want.

strange thing is, every other car i see on the used cars ad has the chrome tips.

well, not sure if i am getting this correctly, but i think the one this guy has is worst than the non-chrome tip one. this exhuast is like black rusty metal that's thin and ugly.

325s dont have the chrome exhaust tips. their exhaust is thin, dirty and ugly lol. BMW sells chrome tips as an accessory here: http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemVi...&productId=235

or maybe you can go aftermarket for a new exhaust

I'm not completely sure for CA models. But for US-spec cars, the 325 and pre-LCI 328 just had the straight pipes as you're describing - like this:

They were silver when new, but get dirty quickly if not cleaned. You can probably clean them with some elbow grease and metal polish, or just get tip from BMW's accessories catalog or aftermarket tips/exhaust.

e90 models from 06-07 did not come with tips. 08+ come with exhaust tips but they are not chrome tips. chrome tips have to be purchased for three series
