Snow Performance Stage 2 Installed Using the Windshield Wiper Fluid Container

I really wanted to install Meth but I really hated the idea of it going in my trunk. So, I got the idea from Steve at EAS of using the windshield wiper fluid container as my Meth container. It's a great idea because you don't have to mess with the extra wiring to the trunk and you already have a low fluid monitor for the windshield fluid.

The down side is that it's a pita to take out the container but once it's out, it's easy to tap into.

The container is behind the passenger front wheel so to get to it you need to take off the inner liner. It sounds easy but you have to take off a lot of bolts and push pins so it's time consuming.

I thought that a good place for the pump is where the boost canisters go so I easily trasfered one of them over to where a lot of people keep their catch cans.

The one thing that I noticed with installing a kit like this is that you can install it really fast but it will look like crap, or you can spend a lot of time making sure that everything is hidden.

Anyways, Here are some pics so you can see what it looks like.

good clean install!

one question....is your pump mounted above the tank level? If so I'd recommend trying to relocate at least at the bottom of the tank, cant tell from those pics.

HOLY SH*T. Such a good idea. I wonder if there is any way to get a tank like that for the driver side that can hold the meth... Anyone know if european cars have the washer tank on the same side or is it a different side? I personally think it would be better off on the driver side IMO.

in european (non UK) cars it is the same, passenger side.

I will do the same but even simpler: disconnect the black rubber pipe that goes to the xenon lamps cleaner: there is a 90° plastic bend near the passenger xenon, you have to access in the wheel liner above the oil cooler.

Plug in the 100PSI meth pump on this pipe, meth will pass trough the xenon washing pump even if it is not powered... so no need to take out the reservoir and to drill it.

How hot do you think the container is getting sitting so close to the turbos and DP's? That would kinda concern me.

this canister is already containing methanol for the windscreen wash... and it is separated by the wheel arch... and OEM bomb proof leak resistant

Obviously yes, if he needs methanol to keep them clean. Best washer fluids have high methanol concentration, so it is the same stuff that you want in your intake.

looks good mr 5, but the pump being mounted higher then the tank worries me, that pump is a pusher style pump, it doesnt have a strong siphon so it relies on the tank to be mounted higher then the pump to keep it primed. keep us updated if this works with no issues

So the windscreen pump is used as usual? I got the impression from pics it is disabled. But there should be no issues to let it remain functional, hopefully...

Clean install....I think a solenoid would still be a safe bet to have installed also, but it looks as though from this setup that the tank fuel line adapter is lower than the pump feed, which SP doesn't recommend because the pump works on a gravity feed..I was faced with the same situation and I tested it with tank higher and it didn't seem to work as efficient....

I did disconnect the pumps because I didn't realize that the windshield wiper fluid had meth in it. But, I'm still wondering if I should connect it because the front headlight spray uses a lot of that fluid.
I just wash my car.

You guys are correct. SP does recommend that the pump be lower than the pick up but it's close to impossible. Steve at EAS did it by mounting the pump next to the oil pan but I think he made a specail bracket for that.
The meth is working since I've done some logs already but I just might mount it by the oil pan like Steve did.

You may want to consider pulling the bumper and mounting it on the 5 mph crash bar too. There is a lot of room there as well.

Pull the headlight washer fuse, those things are annoying to begin with.

This is a popular method for Subarus, specifically the SMC kit. I'm sure someone will come out with an integrated kit for N54s eventually.
