Anyone changed from E46 330ci to E90 330i ?

how are they compared ?

i like the style of E90 more than E92.., but my friend told me that E90 is too soft.., not as sporty as E46 , not as much as feedback from the road than E46 ci...

...hope someone may share..

the dealer car at HK or i drove my friend car..it is softer , or u may said more comfortable..., yes..it is faster, but also..seem to me that less sharp corner

the reason i wanna seek comment here, because most people here mod their car with coilovers.. ,sway etc..

Going from the E46 to the E90 330i, you'll feel more refinement, and less engine/exhaust/tire noise. Ultimately, good or bad, you'll feel less connected to the machine and the road. But in the end, you'll adapt and get used to it, as I have.

Hmmm, the "problem" is that there is more insulation of the interior from the engine, exhaust and road.

Removing those insulation (eg. firewall, wheelwells) may provide more aural feedback, I'm not sure about safety.

For engine note, I really miss the growl of the E46 330i. In the E90 330i, the growl doesn't arrive until in the higher rpm's 4000-5000 and even then it is more subdued. Maybe a cold air intake would help?

Don't get me wrong. The E90 is faster than the E46. It's just that it doesn't "feel" faster due to the increased refinement, know what I mean?

I fully understand what u mean..., nothing really related to speed, as a E90 325i may be faster than E46 330i..or Ci..anyway, beside that, i cannot use all those speed above 120mph anyway, the goodie is E90 0 to 60 mph is faster

i like to feel faster.., more feedback...it is not really Apple to Apple , since i try to compare E90 to E46 Ci.., we shall compare E92 to E46 ci.., however..i like the style of E90

hi hahayan

The Pro-kit is good. With bilstein shock and Non-RFT, it improves the handling quite alot.

The power rear sunshade retrofit was HK$12000 , done by bmwhk

I am now changing from 330Cd E46 to 335i E92. It is a bit different situation, but I could compare both side by side. I would say that the main difference is E9x's suspension settings and its handling, it tends much more to understeer than E46 does. So if you like the fun from driving E46 Coupe, its quick reactions and you are used to push it hard sometimes, you would be probably a little disappointed after driving any E90. The adjustment is simply different and I dont like it so much.

Other changes are unimportant, but E90 is a little better than E46 in all measures. It is more comfortable, spacy, has more options etc.

As you see, I have finally ordered E92 335i, so the negatives are acceptable But E46 is so good car that E90 just can not be fundamentally better...
