Painting Calipers
There's something that really gets to me when people have red or yellow calipers. I was thinking maybe I could paint mine (just an idea).
Whats y our opinion?

go for it, whatever float your boat. For show car, it is nice. for daily driving, the brake dust will cover it unless you wash and detail it every other day.

It's easy, you can buy kits that contain brake cleaner and paint. To the extent that it preserves calipers from corrosion, it's not entirely indefensible, but be prepared that many here will call you names.

I just went to the Auto Parts and asked the guy at the counter.I dont remember the kind of paint but I did tell him that i was gonna paint the calipers and he recommend one for me. I went home took wheels off along with the calipers. Simple process. I get compliments from co -workers about them..

I find that a REAL BBK looks great, but painted calipers usually look cheesy to me. They get REALLY dirty, REALLY fast, and also the heat bakes the paint off most time. If you get the right paint, it'll be high enough temp-resistant, and won't bake off, but still... I don't like the way painted stock calipers look. I see them all day on all kinds of BMW's, and I've never like one.

I feel this is a big no no. Looks cheesy. Makes the car look like it wants a BBK but can't afford it so they paint them. If you can't get a BBK don't paint them.

it'd just make our ugly single pot calipers stand out
sort of like when an old honda paints the drum brakes bright yellow I wouln't want to bring attention to a not so attractive part of the car. |

Whatever you like, no matter. I don't see any problem w. painting calipers. If you think you'll like it that way, paint it.

wat do u guys think about painting the calipers the color of ur car?
if u dont have stock rims, and if theres quite some distance between ur rim spokes, ur brake caliper stands out, and so if its painted, mayb even the color of ur car, itll look clean, ive seen it done. how would monaco blue calipers look on a monaco blue e90, the calipers might almost look black, a good additon to ur rim area. |
