*APB* - Missing Gum + Some remains

Hey Forum Members,

Need some suggestions on how to get gum off of leather?

Belt, jeans, armrest, not sure where the actual piece of it will turn up

I'm hoping the offender swallowed the rest

Please help!

I've read about a few tips people claim handle gum removal from leather, but haven't tried any of these myself.

Scotch tape - use this to lift the gum away from the leather. You might go through a roll of the stuff, but it supposedly works. I'd give this a shot first since it's quick, easy, and safe.

Olive oil - apply to the leather and rub gently. It should loosen the gum and eventually remove it completely. Don't rub too aggressively though.

Gasoline will take it out, and then clean it with soap and water

Freeze it well with some ice, using a few icecubes if you have to and then pick as much as you can off, using a soft plastic putty knife might help. Then clean with a soft leather brush and a woolite/water mix.

The smell of gasoline is very potent though, and will be there for a while.
