Style 193M New Rear Tires... HELP!
Hello Everyone,
I currently have the BMW Style 193M wheels on my car, and have been offered new tires for cheap. The stock tires are: Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZR (runflat) 225/40/18 Front 255/40/18 Rear Would I be able to fit 265/35/18 in the rear with no issues? Any help would be appreciated... thanks!

Also, putting wider rear tires on your car will not increase traction. it will reduce tire wear, but only slightly.
If you dont believe me, google the physics of tire width on friction. You reduce your overall ground pressure, but surface area does not impact friction. |

You were right about the rears being 255/35, and i know it wont improve traction, however the 265's are ps2's wheras the 255's i am offered are pilot sport a/s.
Will they fit with no issues?

The 255/40/18 will throw off your speedo as a result of the difference in diameter of the tire.
I guess you could if you really want to, but if your going to get tires, I would stick with either 225/40/18 and 255/35/18, or go to a 19 inch wheel and go 235/35/19 and 265/30/19. |

Go for it - 265/35/18 will fit without a problem on stock rear wheels.
