Ecu changes

i am thinking of increasing the redline and getting the ecu fully remaped on my 330i, my friend has his reding at 7200rpm, i was thinking of going to 7500, i havent made any other changes to it apart from a highperformance air filter and 0w40 oil. i have a new exhaust in the pipeline i was just wondering would i be able to change the standard Ecu or ahve to get a new one my my friend did any help please
