on my 2006: navigate to the record that you wish to delete and press fob , then select delete and press fob again.

I got the same problem but have solved now. Your iPhone did have two entries for each contact. You can check that by choosing to show 'all contacts' under group in your iPhone. The entry might come from both pc and google contacts. Just make sure to resync your iPhone with only one contact source by itune.

Do you have two phone numbers for each contact? It msy load each number with the contact separately. So you have one for the cell number andvanother for the home or wotk number...
