335i brake pad replacement
Hi All
I am sure this topic has beeen covered elsewhere but I have searched and cant find an agreed answer so if it has sorry in advance. Soon I will need new brake pads low dust(very important- personal experiences would be good) and for occasional track use. Can anyone recommend any and know of a uk stockist? Many Thanks |

There are very few decent pads available for the 335i fitment i'm afraid.
I spent a while looking and made many phone calls to distributors etc. For occasional track use the best I could find are Ferodo DS2500, but they were hard to find also and they are pretty dusty from what I gather. Demon Tweeks had the fronts in stock, but I had to wait a month for rears. They were often only listed under E90 335i too, mention a coupe or tourer and they all said "uhh computer says no mate". All 335i/d are the same fitment anyway, You can get Pagid RS19, but they are fairly hardcore endurance pads that will squeal a lot under light use and thus not be much use on the commute! Low dust and decent performance don't usually go together IMO, so you may need to compromise on one of those requirements. |

A lot of guys in the US rave about cool carbon pads for both street and track use. Around $220 for both front and rears, don't know of any UK stockists, however, these pads are quickly developing pace for being a great compromise for both uses, track and road. It's meant to have less initial bite when the brakes are applied, however, more of a linear braking feel.
No problems of squeal if installed and imbedded properly. |

This squeal is not related to bedding in etc.
The more track / high speed focused a pad is then the more is will squeal at low speed. Also, some don't work too well until they are hot and they will glaze up unless they are caned often. So it need to be a compromise between track and road, OP - The ferodo DS2500 will be your best bet IMO. |

However, this is why the cool carbon pads are gaining a very good repuation in the US. They are very track orientated with people stating that around a track they hardly fade, it's just continuous bite after bite. But, also they do not squeal if installed and embedded properly. Those who have complained about squealing, the replies have been there should not be any, check if you're garage has installed/embedded them properly and ensure the installation/embedding process has been followed per the cool carbon website recommendations. |

I like the DS2500.
But using the EBC redstuff on the road, as good as oem and a lot less dust than Jurids. Camskill, about £100. |
