What Wheels? Advan RS or Volk RE30s?

I usually hate the "What wheels should I get for my car?" threads because why should anyone tell another person what they should do to their car right?
Well, I'm not really asking this question because of looks or what people are going to think of my car.

The reason why I'm asking is because I'm curious with the reputation of each wheel. The strength, the lightness, etc.

I know that both wheels are really good but I'm curious to those who have had experience with either one of these.

I just had a bad experience with the Koseis. They cracked on me and luckily I didn't crash majorly. The thing that I absolutely love about the Koseis though is that they are so fricken light.
Thanks to EAS, they are letting me roll around on a pair of front e90 M3 wheels in the mean time before I make my purchase.
Without them I don't know what I would have done to get around.

So, I want a super lightweight wheel that will be strong enough to not crack for daily driving and preform well on the track.
I've narrowed it down between these 2 because from what I've read, these are some kick ass lightweight, strong wheels.

Both awesome wheels but the RE30s are forged...

Going to have to go with the RE30's. I've had both wheels before.
They're lighter and stronger

RPF1's man, if you are considering those volks. They are very similar and like I said in your broken wheel thread, they haven't had any issues on my heavy ass car on a couple track day sessions and a bunch of street driving.

ADVAN for me, hard choice but I prefer the ADVANs.

I personally prefer the look of the Advans, but since you are not concerned with looks, the choice is obvious; the stronger, forged, and lighter wheels.
Of those, the Volk RE30's are the better choice for what you are looking for in a wheel.

I've personally seen a buddy of mine warp some of the spokes on his Advan RS. Its the same issues that HeelToe seems to have had with his set. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297077

I'd go with the ADVANs because theyre strong and light even though theyre cast. Pressure cast and form flow casting is the best, not all cast is the same mind you. Look at the old Euro DTM race cars, the lower budget teams usually ran cast wheels because they couldnt afford to swap wheels all the time. They're more durable and keep their round better and longer than forged wheels do. Forged wheels tend to crack just as much as cast wheels, they only difference is that theyre lighter for the amount of strength they provide, nothing else. Quality cast wheels can be just as strong, but theyre just heavier. It's not magical.

From pictures, it seems that alot of BMW WTCC racing cars are using the Advan RS. There must be a reason for this...plus, they look better (than the other ones) in 18" because the spokes extend over the lip making the wheel look larger in diameter.

I came across a deal that was pretty darn good so I took it.
