Nav DVD Disc

This is mainly a question for UK 335 owners.

My car was supplied with the 06-02 version of the Nav DVD for the professional sat nav. This was at the end of October 2006.

For cars supplied around this time what version on nav disc were you supplied?

There is now an 07 nav disc with useful updates - such as post code entry BUT it costs 230 pounds!

Does anyone know when the 07 disc was released?

I am going to attempt to get BMW to replace the nav disc free of charge, if reasonably the car should have been supplied with this version.

It's really bad I bring this up, but I was at a dealer the other day and realized they leave the DVD in the cars. And i'm sure most of you know the DVD players are not located in the trunk anymore either.

I have the same combo as yours.

Mine was ordered late Nov 2006, taken delivery of my baby on the 4/1/2007 and I got a 07-1 SatNav DVD supplied.

Mines an e90 - Sept delivery - I also got the 06 / 02 disc

Bit naughty ... but I'm sort of hoping that the courtesy car I get for the first service has nav .... if it does and it has the latest disc I may just rip it to my PC

Thanks for replys, looks like i just missed the 07 disc.

BMWer do yu know the improvments for the 07 disc? If its a big step i might shell out for it, but if its just post code entry then maybe not.

Thing is the manual says post code entry should be possible - but its not (with the 06-02) so i could complain on those grounds and at least get some money off - i mean 230 quid for a corrected disc - what a p**s take!

Hi Harry.

The 2007-1 SatNavPro DVD has updated routes & points of interest (POIs).

The postcode entry of destinations is also available again- it was c*cked up & rendered unavailable by Navteq in the 2006-2 disc.
However, as with previous versions, full postcode entry is still unavailable.

If you have a purchased 2006-2 disc & want to get hold of the 2007-1 disc, then you will be provided a free upgrade from your stealership.
However, you need to say that you are well & truly f*cked off with the lack of postcode entry in the 2006-2 disc & would like the 2007-1 disc, to which you know you are entitled.

If they come up with any bullsh*t, just mention that you were given the info from BMW UK & they can get in touch with them, if there's a problem.

Luckily, I didn't have any such problem, as I managed to 'acquire' the 2007-1 disc as a torrent- download utorrent & get the torrent here (3.59Gb- but it works fine!)

All the best.

Viv

I also got my car in October 2006 and got the 2006-2 DVD. In fact I even enquired about it then as I already knew the 2007-1 was available on the German eBay.
Dealer just played dumb and claimed not to know anything about a 2007-1 version, and if it existed that they would be the first in the country to have it, despite me showing them the printouts of the German eBay, which even contained pictures of the official sealed DVD box with the 2007-1 version printed on it and the supported car types.
In any case, lets just say I got the DVD my other means, and that I will be taking my car to another dealer for service.
So far I have not been contacted by BMW for a survey, but this combined with several other things that happened will cause them to get a VERY low rating.

, but I'm thinking you might end up receiving another parking ticket at UK3, MF!

You are certainly entitled to a FOC replacement 2007-1 disk, Harry, from whichever point of view your dealer looks at the situation.

All the best.
