Heated Steering Wheel??

Like the title says has anyone added a heated wheel to their 3. I have a 2007 335. I did search but could not find anything. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

based on the location of the switch I would guess that you would have to replace the entire steering column and I imagine that would not be cheap.

Bump, i just noticed that X6 has the heating button on the wheel, rather than the steering column...
Does E71 steering wheel has the same specifications as 3-series, same bolt/mount pattern, are they compatible&can we swap them without touching steering column?!

When I ordered my car, I had no idea it came with one. It seemed pointless to me; now I can't get enough of it.

I have a similar issue as the OP. My new E93 was supposed to have a heated steering wheel as it has ZCW, but due to information in the ordering guide and the BMWUSA website, my CA failed to include it int he order. I am working with the dealership to get it rectified, but does anyone knows if the steering column is prewired for the HSW?
I dunno about the heated wheel...I have it, and it doesn't warm up that much (like the seats), and the back of your hands are still cold; so you have to wear nice leather gloves.

THe heated seats are amazing though; they warm up so fast, and its the whole seat, not just the butt area.

IMO heated steering wheel isn't worth it.

That was THE unexpected useful feature of my X5, does wonders in cold weather. Especially if I have to clean up frost/ice/snow in the morning.

Wish it was an option for my '08 3-series.

I just traded an '08 E90 and had 3 5ers before that. All had heated steering wheels and they got warm almost immediately, faster than the seats. If yours is not getting hot quickly it's not working properly and you should have it checked out.

My GF prefers gloves because they are a fashion/clothing accessory.

Go figure...

My wife refused to replace her 5er until the 3 got a heated steering wheel. It is really nice to have especially with the cold winters here in Canada.

Hmm...mine gets warm quick enough, but it doesn't get hot...its barely warm enough here in Canada. The back of my hands are always cold with the heated wheel.

Is that normal?

The heated seats are fab -- they get really really warm!

My other car (wife's car) Maxima has a heated wheel and I have to admit it is awesome. Even my mothers 04 X3 has one, Im really confused why my 07 335i does not have one?

It was on a Buick of some sort that I rented last winter. It heats the wheel right up ok the one time I tried it out. Mostly in the winter, I tend to put on gloves before going outdoors; thus I have them on when I enter the car, so, not sure how often it'd be useful.

I guess if your habits don't call for gloves and the car is actually in a very cold place, it could be a useful feature. For me, though, it's little more than a novelty.

Because in 2007, people weren't so delicate that they needed a heated wheel.
