okay so im about to buy a 335i 07 white/black 35k miles but its out of warranty and has every option
unfortuanly since its out of warranty i can't CPO it. Was going to get a extened warranty through a aftermarket company don't know who i should use ... has anyone here ever got one??? also if i plan on doing chip intake exhaust intercooler ..... is a warranty even worth it? This probably doesn't help you...but I always get my cars from carmax, and their "max care" aftermarket warranty is absolutely phenomenal and I swear by it.
It's a complete warranty which covers everything, and no amount of mods voids the warranty (unless the part you add directly effects the part that's broken) |

I plan on keeping some "emergency service funds" in the vault for after warranty issues. Hopefully wont get TOO pricey. Looking forward to switching brake pads though...

Years ago, I bought one of these warranties from "Warranty Gold," which was very reputable and highly regarded at the time. They were supposedly re-insured with Swiss Rea. In reality, they disappeared one day and took my money with them. The other issue is that most of these warranties have a specific list of things they cover--which is never what actually breaks. Sometimes, it's literally just going to cover you if the engine block cracks or if the transmission gears break. The real costs you're going to incur are going to be electronic or secondary systems failing (seat motors, windows, sunroof, power top, climate control, iDrive, fuel system, drivetrain controllers, etc. etc.). Most of these warranties don't even cover this stuff.

Yeah, I bought one when I bought my car a few months ago. Well, I had a few bolts break on the head. Warranty Co would not cover it, they don't cover broken bolts . I then cancelled my warranty since it was still inside the 100% refund time.

You have to be sure that it is an "exclusionary" warranty. In other words if it does not specifically state that something is not covered, it is covered.

I have an extended warranty through CNA (I belive it the name). I called them to inquire about a few things that came up in a recent visit to the shop. Everything I mentioned was covered and the guy said I have pretty good coverage; just hate my deductable is $200 (guess it's better than having to pay for it all out of pocket).
Mine carries me through 100k and I believe it cost me approx $1400 (??). I know it wasn't much more than that or else I'd have thrown a fit. And, if you mod your car, you're less likely to get a tongue-lashing from the SA since they aren't footing the bill - the warranty company is.

+1. I have my warranty extended through Great American, good to 2015 or 100k...I'm still under factory warranty so I can't comment as to how good it was, cost about $3200. If/when I use it I'll be sure to post my results and experience with it.
