Just installed my COBB AP
The whole install took less than 20 minutes. Just plug it in and follow the instructions. I was a bit nervous about but it was very easy to do. The difference is amazing! I thought it was fast before but with the 93 Octane map, the car absolutely hauls ass. I didnt have any CEL's after the install and the car pretty much drives like normal under 3 - 3.5 RPM's. After that WOW! If anyone is on the fence about it, it is worth it!
COBB's service was great too. When I went to install it the first time I had an unrecognized ROM. I just downloaded it and emailed it to COBB on Sunday night, and by Monday afternoon they had the updated firmware released. BTW I have no other mods, just a stock 335I coupe 6MT. |

I am patiently waiting till they release Stage 2 and then see how that performs. Till then, GIAC is what "rocks my world".

i'm a Cobb lover myself - former STi owner.
ran Stage 2 with a 3" dp and the car felt amazing. then, with the ProTuning capabilities, it just made me love Cobb's product even more. bad thing is that i have an 07 and JB4 was cheap and easily available. |

Wow, what hype?
All I see is a company willing to help us out by giving us a tune that can be easily removed for dealership work. I understand that no company will ever meet the expectations of it's customers 100%. Sounds like they are trying, just as other vendors here. Just because they don't meet your time lines doesn't make it hype. I am guessing that all here would like would rather they take their time and produce a product with limited problems. I, myself, will be waiting for stage 2 and spring to come along. It is most difficult to be patient, but what other choice is there, if I already made up my mind to go COBB? |

Still love my AP. My GF drove my car the other day and asked what the hell I did with it. She likes it alot and power is nice and smooth. Made me feel good that I wasn't the only one that noticed it. She likes it more than the JB3 I had in there and I agree with her. Can't wait for stage 2 maps and ATR or whatever it's called

Basically allows the end user full access to tune the car the way THEY want. not precanned stuff like other flashes or the psudo tuning options in the piggies
Every table Cobb can adjust, you can adjust. This is the main reason i bought Access Port. Yes you can use it to blow up your car too. In other words its for advanced users. If its any indication from my time here on the forum most users will be scared of it and very few will actually use it to its full potential. Most users are happy to pile on "bullet proof" solutions where they "think" they are super tuning heros but are constrained by parameters set forth by the "tune" manufacturers . Kinda like DTC for tuning. ATR is like removing DTC all the way Harry Last edited by ZTUNER; 02-16-2011 at 03:03 PM.. |

For me, I would stick with the DTC traction nanny version
I wouldn't want to be the one to start the 'oops, I blew up my engine post -- discovering 22 psi sustained is too high on 87 octane on the 17th 1/2 mile pull' thread. Then I could complain that the dealer or BMW is being ridiculous and evil when they are very suspicious this occurred naturally and resist replacing the engine, intercooler, turbos, a/c belt, left turn signal, etc. Black helicopters circle my house, photograph the tune receipt through an open window...
