No actually believe it or not the automatics are much faster than the manuals! They hold boost whrn shifting gears and it multiplies torque, also the automatics have a bit of a higher top speed due to the gearing. The fastest 335i's out there are autos

AT being quicker or faster are just "feel good" bs claims people make so they feel superior. how often do you reach top speed on the track or on the street? hell, how many people even have a speed delimiter? there isn't much performance advantage to either transmission. |

The AT is definatly geared to accelerate faster up to 130 MPH or so.
