FS: Hrtg Style Front Lip
Ok guys, I inquired about making some lips for people on this forum in another thread. The initial plan was to make a couple in carbon fiber because that was what I wanted. That plan is still in progress, however, after I bought the original lip, my friend's manufacturer made some fiberglass ones first and gave me a few to offer here on this board. The original hrtg lip I bought looked crappy but actually has a pretty decent quality. His manufactuer told me that it looks like a 3-6 layer fiberglass lay with minimal resin. They were able to improve the quality pretty easily which allows me to offer the lips to you guys with a pretty good discount from the original price. PM me if you want one so I can calculate the shipping cost and total for you. Here are some pics of the lip I bought. I'll post some side by side comparison pictures when I have them for you guys to take a look at. ****UPDATE 10/20 GROUP BUY**** ****PRICE UPDATE**** Alright I talked to my friend to see what he can do on the pricing, he's willing to give me a better deal for this forum so here's the updated price structure. 3 people - $415 5 people - $390 10 people - $340 (if more than 5 people responds by the 26th, I'll extend one more week to try to get it down to here. $100 deposit will be collected from everyone) Sign up now, I'll close it in one week from today. Oct 26th, wednesday. LIST: sunchild 06alpine325icm romain spk330 (bimmerfest.com) See the original inquiry thread Picture of the real hartge lip installed on someone's car in this thread. hey everyone, I dont have an exact set price yet since my friend haven't told me how much they're going to charge me for each of these fiberglass lips yet. It would probably be $400.

You want even stronger then fiberglass, then I guess you can wait for the carbon fiber one I have coming, but the price will be a lot higher. |

Well, it's about a $200 saving off retail price, I think that's not a bad discount for essentially the same item. I can ask them to make it in cheaper quality to see if the price can be lower. If thats what people on here prefers then I'll see what I can do. I thought people here would want better quality and don't mind paying for it, so thats why I asked them to make it better. I mean you really rather save an additonal $50-$75 for something that has a lower quality, or get something that has equal quality as original and save $200 from actual price. Let me know. I'm paying a total of like $3500 to get one single carbon fiber made, but that's just me.

400 seems reasonable. It is not just the cost of product and production but also time and effort that is put into the project. Anyhow, thanks for looking out. Nice lip btw, im waiting on the Hamann lip replica.

will the hartge replica fit like the authentic hartge lip? I don't want any trouble and if I am, I would rather get the original hartge lip... thanks

HARTGE E90 Front Spoiler Lip
Be careful with replica parts. They may look the same but the quality and fit may not be there. The savings you think you get on the purchase may soon disappear with the costs/efforts taken to get it to fit, or address issues down the road.
Regarding durability, any fiberglass part is subject to cracking, given enough of an impact. This is the nature of the beast. The best option is using polyurethane, but the reality is to tool up and mold parts in this for the aftermarket is not cost effective, to either the manufacturer nor the consumer. If you want more info on authentic HARTGE components, please let me know. Mark |

alright guys, I went back to LA this past weekend and got some good new from my friend, the lips will be in this week, I can probably post a picture of the lip with fitment on my car by wednesday or thursday.
As far as what you guys are worried about, the quality of the lip is top notch, is definitely as good as the original. The fitment, from what I've seen personally, its excellent. I will take care of it if you are having major fitment issue. My friend's company gauranteed me so I'm not too worried about it. Pricing - If you have not PMed me and I haven't given you an exact quote, the first shipment are all reserved. I can order more and get them very quickly. I got a set price from my friend and I can offer these at $450. If you'd like me to reserve one for you, please pm me and I can give you more detail. Let me know if you guys got more questions or concerns. If you are in north (bay area) or south cali (LA/OC area), I can do local pick up so you guys don't have to pay shipping. |

Lip is ready, fits well, looks great. I got more from my friend, ready to ship. Turns out they got more than 5, just that he gave me 5 initially. Should I set up a group buy? |
