BMW has launched the BMW Evolve App, an iPhone app which is a virtual electric vehicle simulator which uses data from your current driving habits to help determine if a BMW ActiveE or an upcoming BMW all-electric vehicle will be right for you.

The program uses the iPhone's GPS to track your driving habits and distances and lets you charge virtually as you would with a real electric vehicle.

The data you collect will not only help determine if you're ready for a BMW EV, but can also collect and submit info to BMW which will help the company engineer the next generation of BMW EVs.

seems like every app nowadays wants to know exactly where i am and what i'm doing at all times. patiently gathering information until the day they become self aware and enslave us all!

jesus, not that I have anything to hide but the every MNE in this world is soon going to know exactly where I am at all times.

fortunately since there is so much data, no one cares to track people with it. However, it would be a problem if a personal grudge from an app developer was to come into play.

With all this data, the app user should be anonymized just like medical data, however there is not yet a scare worthy of implementing this.

Interested! But the thought is... who are the companies creating these tracking apps? CIA? FBI? ATF? CNN? ABC? FOX? KGB? KKK? BET? CSPAN? NGO? or WHO?... Well I guess its like walking through the Airport Check point and the freaking scanner is taking pictures of my man sack!! Lol!! Ok got off on a tangent!! Nevertheless, who has asked the question requiring background info on the app requester? Or simple don't get the apps if you don't want to play the game//... OK I'm confused now!!!
