Where do I get my username and password for the ConnectedDrive website?
I have BMW assist, called and made my "acquaintance call" over the system, and I have a BMW website login, but I dont have a ConnectedDrive username or pass from anything.

No one contactable seems to know, and the dealerships are closed till at least Tuesday

What exactly are you trying to do? There is no such thing as a Connected Drive website where you need a password/login.

Connected Drive is just BMW's name for various features.

I think you only get that if you purchase an option, on top of the regular "bmw assist".

IN the US, all you get with BMW assist is this, unless you pay extra (called the safety plan):

Customer Relations

For the rip-off price of $199.00 extra, you can add the convenience plan, which provides:

So I'm not sure what you get with the connected drive login.

That website is not for the U.S. -- look at the fine print on the bottom left:

Deutschland England France Italia Kuwait Österreich UAE

There is no U.S. option.

Theres no US option, but if you crack the UK iphone app, you can use it on your USA car.

Its all working now.

I can remote unlock, send google map destinations, etc right from the "My BMW Remote" app.
Works great

You are correct though. You do need the premium service for Concierge etc, but why bother when you can just search google maps, hit send to car, and its on your nav in 2 seconds anyway ?
Faster than calling the Concierge.

True, but your original question did not specify that you were looking to use a UK site for an Iphone BMW app. And by the way, you don't need the app to do that. I can do the same thing from any computer. I can go to google maps and send to my car as well. I use it all the time (and I don't even have an Iphone).

I see that on google maps now.
The app is very handy for in the car though as its much faster than entering the address through i drive, and allows you to do normal google map searches for the addresses themselves.

I didnt know it was a UK only at first. Didnt even really know what exactly it was I was looking for. Its split into so many different offerings and accounts for each country, i was reading conflicting information.

YOu need a BMW assist account (the basic safety plan -- which inclues "my info"). Click on the "A" that designates the location you brought up on a google map, then choose "more". Then you'll see this (enter the email address set up for BMW assist):

Yes. And once you turn on your car after sending the address, you'll find a message in iDrive (under messages -- from "my info"). Just open the message and click on the address to set as a navigation destination.

Much easier than manually entering an address.

Anyone have specifics on using the UK app on a USA car?


I have the app downloaded and working, but not sure how to actually log in on the app to talk to the car.

I have tried the email address that I used for the google maps, but no idea how to set up or what to use as the password.

It would be neat to use the app, if anything to activate the cooling before I head to the car.

Any help would be great!

Your password should be the BMW Assist password that you should have setup when you bought the car.

As far as I can tell the app looks pretty cool in a nerdy techie sort of way. Can't actually wait to try it out.


Anyone know of any issues that can or will cause trouble by using the app not specifically designed for the US market? Are there any warranty issues I should or would have to worry about?

I downloaded the app. Have an 08 335i (production date 06/08) will accept the locate and unlock feature but I have never been able to lock the car with the app.

any ideas?
