PROcede 335i 4.50sec. 0-60mph & 13.02sec. 1/4mi. @ 108.3mph trap speed
Ok, so with the XEDE out and the PROcede in as of yesterday, I was able to test my PROcede-equipped 335i Coupe today with a couple of timed runs. Again, I timed the runs using my Beltronics Vector FX1 timer and I ran it on the same hwy. road I did before (when I timed my XEDE-equipped 335i).
So here are the parameters... 1. Same flat hwy. road as before -- http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51997 2. 77 degrees F, ~55% R.H., dry, sunny weather. 3. DTC on (1 quick push of the DTC button). 4. M1-M5 ManuMatic shifting. 5. Brake launch from ~ 1,500rpm 6. Same Beltronics Vector FX1 timer; no recalibration necessary. Next, some things to note about the PROcede as compared with the XEDE... 1. I had been driving with my XEDE (that Shiv installed as I was part of the S. FL XEDE beta tester group) for more than 5,000 mi. (I've got ~ 6,700mi. on my 335i now) and I was quite used to how it propelled my 335i faster than stock. 2. The one thing that was quite evident about the XEDE was when the turbos kicked in, you knew there was a HUGE difference from stock...it was not like ..."well, my butt dyno tells me it's faster; it was more like..."holy sh!t, I think I'd better hold on now" faster. However, that doesn't mean that it was any easier to get all that power to the wheels for a good launch. On the contrary, I think it made it more difficult to control all the added HP/TQ from the XEDE. By contrast, the PROcede seems to have the ability to control the added HP/TQ in a much more efficient manner. 3. At first, I thought that the PROcede made my car a bit slower than when I had the XEDE, but I quickly realized that this was just an illusion since the PROCede adds the extra HP/TQ in a much smoother, much more civilized fashion. While the XEDE felt more like an on/off switch (with the higher HP and especially TQ) seemed to really kick in at a certain point, the PROcede seems to add the same or more power at a smoother, more gradual rate. 4. My PROCede-equipped 335i feels much more like it did when it was a stock 335i, just much faster. Not only will it take a short time for me to get used to how the PROcede controls the added HP/TQ, but after just a couple hopurs, I'm beginning to appreciate it eevn more than when I had the XEDE. :rocks: 5. Please keep in mind that of this comparison is between Shiv's original Vishnu Performance XEDE (and not the AA XEDE or any other version of the XEDE that's now out in the market) and Shiv's Vishnu Performance PROcede. So, here are my results with my now PROcede-equipped 335i Coupe from today. Note not only my better 0-60mph and 1/4 mi. numbers, but also my 1/4 trap speed is much higher than ever before! My best XEDE-equipped 335i runs were 4.58 sec. 0-60mph and 13.12 sec. ~ 106.4mph; with the PROcede, it's now 4.50 sec. 0-60mph and 13.02 sec. ~ 108.3mph!!!! :rocks:

sflgator,
Your times are good but those devices are optimistic. I consistently compare my G-tech pro with the real track numbers and they are always off by .2 sec. Do you have any real 1/4 mile timeslips?Congrats anyway, your car seems quick. |

Not yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to the Moroso track sometime soon. I can understand why some ppl feel these timers are inaccurate, but with stock 335i's consistently doing 0-60mph in 4.8-5.0 sec. and 1/4 mi. in 13.4-13.6 sec. @ 104-105mph, why is it so unreasonable to think that a PROcede-equipped 335i would do 0-60mph in 4.50 sec. and 1/4 mi. in 13.02 sec. @ 108.3mph (even if it were timed with a $99 Beltronics Vector FX1 timer)?

You've gotten some bad data. In the last day I have seen reports of failing FP's at over 6000 and over 9000 miles. |

sflgator, I think it'd help a lot of us if you go back out to that hwy and do runs with and w/o the PROcede hooked up, within a short period of time. It's the difference that matters to most of us, not necessarily the absolute numbers.

As easy as it is to install/uninstall the PROcede, this is not the 30-sec. install/uninstall like that of the Turbo Timer. And, frankly, I don't really care what my times were when my car was stock; I just know they're not as fast as my PROcede-equipped car.

Don't get me wrong, your car's results are great , but I think many others would greatly appreciate the relative gains you've achieved (well, what Shiv has achieved, really).

If they can afford to buy the PROcede for $1,300, they surely can afford to spend $99-$199 for a Beltronics or G-tech timer. I know that others on this Forum have these timers as well; some have already used them and others go to the racetrack. They can uninstall and re-install their mods if they want to; I just think most ppl won't keep pulling things off/on (unless it's a quick 30-sec. deal).
