Recapturing the MoJo...
Having been enjoying the E class for nearly six months now I thought that was it. A cruising Merc with all the comfort and toys, it’ll be slippers and a dressing gown next. Still got the Megane R230 though, but never really been that overjoyed with it. If it wasn’t for the missus liking it it would have been gone.
Anyway, I thought I’d have a little run out in it this morning before breakfast. Up about 6.30am, a perfect autumn morning, dry, crisp thin air, no wind and temperature read about 7c on the dash. The Megane’s got a huge Forge intercooler fitted along with a full Miltek exhaust system with a stage II map and didn’t it tell this morning. Ran out to Whitewell over the Trough Of Bowland, cooked the brakes and ran out of road several times but I had not smiled or enjoyed a spirited drive like that since the Elise or M3. Years ago I made the same early morning runs. The first in a Mark I Astra GTE, and still twenty years on I get the same feeling. Its mornings like this that restore the faith and remind us why its all worth while. Oh well fun over, back to work |

Nice little write-up dude. Makes it all worth it when you get to enjoy a car properly!
Love it

Had a similar drive in the M3 a month or so ago - had a Saturday morning 7am trip over to Wales - roads were pretty empty and only a few people (temporarily ) got in my way
Had great fun and really gave the M3 a proper thrashing! Caught me out on a few corners but nothing more than the M Dynamic mode could cope with (didnt have the balls to turn it off completely lol) Fully understand what you mean Marcus - only problem is 20 years ago, you had time to do that every week - now it's once a year ha ha |

You guys are perfectly describing my daily commute .
(hence the crap mpg and worn tyres after 3,800 miles)

I'm hoping for a good thrash up to Chester tonight! Will definitely not be using any m-ways...
