335i Performance Edition Model - Small Review with Pics
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I recently went to Nick Alexander BMW in Los Angeles and my advisor Jason was kind enough to allow me to drive a 335 performance edition as well as a standard edition 335 for comparison. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to drive either car for more than 20 min. but it doesn't take long to feel the difference, and notice that there's something definitely more going on in the performance edition. Primarily, the cars are very similar they both sound similar when you start them and after warmup. The difference comes when you stand on it. The performance edition is just more of the standard car, it's like the difference between being in drive or sport mode. Everything happens with more urgency and has a bit more rawness about it. The performance edition brings the car up a level, instead of being just a sport package it is now worthy of the name Performance Edition. There is more low end, definitely more midrange and a smoother top end. Granted I didn't get a chance to explore the top end that'll have to wait till I get my own car which should be here by the end of October. As mentioned by others this is a must when ordering a car from the factory, and in my opinion a worthwhile retrofits based on the prices that are currently being offered through the end of the year. This is as close to an IS as any 335i Sedan owner is going to get from BMW (And its feels damn close power wise). I know that Nick Alexander and Jason are offering the PPK 1 install out the door for $699.00 I think that's one of the best prices that I've heard of in Southern California. Look forward to reading some additional reviews as people start receiving their cars and for those that start getting their retrofits.:thumb up: The Performance Edition is a Performance Addition Content: PE Badge PE Kidney Grill PE Underhood plaque Last edited by FunRevn; 10-08-2011 at 08:08 PM.. |

Thought this thread is all about a Performance Edition for the Mini.

I drove one today. Definitely has more quick access to power and a louder exhaust note.

I finally picked up my car. I'm really liking this car. The Performance addition is very nice and makes the car a bit sharper than stock. As many have noted D now feels like DS used to. And DS is very nice. Well worth the money.
Here are a few pics of my car. I may go back to the stock grills but in the mean time I modded the stock grills in the truck and the all black grill that came with the performance package. Now I have IS grills. lol |

So this is basically a 335i E90 with M-Sport package and the PPK installed from the factory? Is it the PPK Stage I or Stage II?
That's cool... it's a like a stealth 335is.

Badge belongs on a Civic or Corolla with plastic scoops and wings. For $700 its great. I think they want $1500-$2000 up here. Car goes 0-60 .2 seconds faster. Probably worth $700 but not $1500.

I like the stock and M version better. Not much special externally on this.

Oh come on the badge rocks
I picked up the car on Monday and only drove to dinner with my wife and baby. I work from home office and have been super busy.... The badge will come off soon. I'll probably put it on the inside of the glove box.. She's no M3 but she has tons of usable lowend power for daily driving My M3 was awesome the explosive DCT shifts will surely be missed until my 2013 M3 arrives for now I'm enjoying. Got a few tweaks to do and I think it's going to be a great DD |
