Looking for a Sirius/XM Module (trunk mounted), as I'm not willing to let the dealer snag $900 out of my pocket for one.

I have the sat module in my car, I haven't used it at all and don't wanna pay for a subscription. If i remove it will it throw all sorts of codes or cause anything bad to happen??? Will i need a coding if i pull it i guess is what i'm getting at lol.
