Recommended Shops Mid-Town/Downtown Toronto
Hi guys,
This is fairly urgent. Looking for a recommended/honest shop in mid-town or downtown that does quality work, as that is where I live/work. Does not have to be BMW specific/specialized as this is for a MY 2000 Domestic vehicle. Power steering system has had a leak in it since about December. Stop Leak seemed to be doing the trick for the past few months, but looks like she finally gave way, as I had a nice puddle under the car and no power steering yesterday night when leaving the bar (no problem when driving to the bar...guess I just ran out of luck?) All the recommended shops seem to be either in the West end (Mississauga) or East end (Markham). Don't know of anything centric. Any and all help/recommendations would be appreciated. I'd prefer not to drive too far without power steering (will pour some more fluid in, but will likely not last too long). Thanks in advance! |

If I were you, I would have arranged an appointment with Rocco of RPM Motors. He fixes cars right away, not that others cannot do that, but I have seen many not doing that! If I had no time during the weekdays, I would either get my car towed to RPM motors or get an appointment for the coming weekend, depending on how much I like my car!
Have moved to Alberta and still looking for similar quality, efficiency and rates of service... GL |

Auto trend is near downtown (Broadview & Pottery). Mixed review.
Central Import is right in downtown. No idea of their service reputation. http://www.centralimport.ca/index.php/services/bmw.html |

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I ended up taking it into AML Auto Service on Laird since it was close to my office and I could still walk to and from work from there. I've read some decent reviews on them for being honest, so I figured I'd give them a shot. They were accomodating, and I got a pleasant and honest vibe from them, and they were able to repair the issue the same day. I was happy with this, because when I brought the car in, all the bays were full, and they looked busy. Turns out the issue was a leak in the low pressure/cooler line running into the rack. Replaced, and everything seems to be working ok again. I think this provides a good view on the shops honesty, as a dishonest shop likely would have tried to ding me for a new rack, and probably a new pump too. When a get the BMW, I think I will be making the trek out to RMP whenever possible, as they seem to be a class above the rest based on the reviews I've seen. Speaking of that, any of you have a lease coming up soon that you are planning on returning? I'd love to buy the car at the residual/buy out at lease end as a third party and save some coin in the process (I believe BMW allows this...probably a dealer fee of a few $100 involved though I'd assume...and of course a little something-something for being so nice to me) |

we only see what our mind shows us!
If its a domestic car, you can see Naveed at Dixon Emmission. Very reasonable rates and quick service. I always went to him for my non-bmw needs and he was always good with work and customer satisfaction. http://www.profilecanada.com/company...t_Etobicoke_ON For BMW's, I dont think you find anyone better than Rocco of RMP Motors! |
