What speed on the motorway?

Hey guys, Im wondering what speeds do you normally do on the motorway?

I used to drive around 90 in my audi, however now, I rarely go over 85. I normally use the M6 North between birmingham and preston!

I recently watched "traffic cops" and they filmed it on the M6 near Stafford! Saw some unlucky doctor getting pulled over at 101mph!

I hope 80-ish is acceptable!

Cruise set at 80. So I'm guessing that's around 75. It seems to suit the car and offers a good mix of getting on and economy.

I usually set cruise for anywhere between 75-85 depending on the traffic flow. I have to say it's far nicer these days driving slower in general.

One thing I only discovered by accident the other day was on the cruise control stick to increase the speed, you can pull/push it further and it jumps in 5mph increments. Not sure how I missed it before

Is that not only on 6 cylinder models that have the posh cruise control that also brakes when going downhill etc?

It took me a short while to figure what was going on with that as well. It doesn't just jump 5mph though it jumps to the nearest devision of 5mph which is even more usefull if your set at 67 you will increase to 70, then 75.

I didn't think the 4 pot models had to brake-assist (or whatever) cruise control.

+1 for RTFM
