Installed H&R coilovers on my Xi
So i finally had my coilovers installed but the problem i'm having is the fronts are still higher than the rears. The fronts are set to the lowest setting and the rear is set to the highest but it's still not level.
Pics of the drop Here i think the problem has to do with the fronts having that extra small spring 9see pic below in the blue box) for a softer ride. it came with 4 springs total (2 small ones called "tender spring" & 2 big ones. Has anyone here not install the smaller helper springs?

Those definitely do not go in the front. After seeing the installed picture I can say 100% when those were on my car those little spring things were not on the fronts.

those go in the back on the h&r kit! defintely installed wrong and is probably not too safe because your front springs dont have a solid bottom seat!

Are you installing it alone or at a shop?

Yea they're definitely installed incorrectly...here's a pic of how they should be placed.....i thought they were color coded and placed the Big Red springs with the "helper" smaller springs together in the front and left the rear black springs alone.

I am surprised to see that the H&R front coils come without helper springs. My FKs have helper springs in all 4 corners.
Anyways, have you resolved the problem yet?

from what i've heard "helper" springs or "tender" springs (what H&R calls them) are use to help dampen/absorb/cushion the ride to make it less harsh when you hit a bump/pothole. it does add about an inch or two to the ride height but it makes sense they should be for the rear.

thanks
I am guessing this is a kits for the whole car. look pretty simple to install. How hard to install a set like this. Mine got some squeez noise. I guess I move too much legal paper at once one time.

yep, its the Street Perf. Coil Over. the install took 4 hours. the front was easier than the rear;it's the biggest PITA. you have to remove all your carpeting just to access the 2 rear bolt/screw. bmw don't make it easy to mess with the rear suspension.
