Finally! Riss Racing Downpipes for 335.. Amazing Power Gains and Info Inside!
Guys, I have not been this excited since PROcede came out and I am more than excited to share this information with you.
For the passed month I have been working with Riss Racing to help Develop products for the 335. (been droping hints all over the forum, but didnt want to release anything yet) The first idea that came to mind (well a lot came to mind) was to develope downpipes. We all know how restrictive the stock downpipes are having 2 huge cats on them as well as the small piping and crushed bends restricting exhaust flow! This I'm sure you all know that stock downpipes restrict our turbos and cause a lot of back pressure...etc The passed couple weeks have been crazy spending night and day fabricating the downpipes for the 335, taking them off and on, off and on to make sure fitment is perfect! As of now there is only one company to offer downpipes for the 335 and they currently sell them for 2800 dollars. Our idea was to make a product that is going to make more power and be cheaper to all BMW enthusiasts! I mean just because we have a BMW doesn't mean we should pay ridiculous prices! We have Successfully Developed a perfect Prototype and it is ready for Mass Production. Specs: -Catless... These Downpipes REMOVE FACTORY CATS -304 Stainless Steal -Complete Mandrel Bend piping throughout downpipe -3inch diameter Piping which tappers to 2.75inch at the end and has machined welded 2.5 universal flange to bolt to the stock/aftermarket exhaust systems. -3 inch machined welded laser cut flanges to bolt to stock turbo and utilize stock band. -Machine welded 02 sensor bungs for both pre and post 02 sensors -3rd machine welded 02 sensor bung for anyone that would like to run a wide band...there is a bolt that plugs this if you do not want to use the 3rd bung. Answers to questions that I know will come up... That I can help with Is there a Check Engine Light?.... NO! Weeks of testing and no check engine light, both with and without PROcede. Does 3 inch fit? Yes, we have successfully made 3 inches fit with no rubbing, touching, etc. Clearance is perfect, and to be honest there is more room now than there was with stock (having their bends and cats)! Also keep in mind at the end of the downpipe they tapper to 2.75 inches for perfect fitment to stock exhaust system And the Real Question!!! HOW MUCH POWER DO THEY MAKE OVER STOCK!?? Well this is the exciting part! Here are all the Details on Before and After Dyno with just our first set prototype downpipes. STOCK car STOCK DOWNPIPES secondary cats removed. I DYNO my car STOCK with ZERO modifications on a DYNOJET. Run Conditions: 69.9F Humidity: 42% SAE with 1.0 CF and smoothing 5 76 pump gas Max Power: 269.74 WHP Max Torque: 279.33WTQ Do not mind the PROcede DYNO over the stock graph! STOCK car with Riss Racing 3inch Downpipes and NO PROCEDE on DYNOJET... We wanted to show true gains over stock! Run Conditions: 89.4F Humidity: 26% SAE with 1.0 CF and smoothing 5 76 pump gas Max Power: 296.94- 26.7 Wheel HP increase OVER STOCK! Max Torque: PEAK 328.68- 49.3 Wheel TQ increase OVER STOCK! Again this is without PROcede or any other "chip". We have 3 graphs to show everyone so there is no skepticism on it being SAE, STD, or uncorrected. WE are going to post all three so there is no controversy on the numbers being inflated...but for now to let you know STD was 304.05whp and 336.54wtq... and Uncorrected was 297.89whp and 329.72wtq. Here is the STD graph Here is uncorrected graph We saw consistently 296whp SAE on all pulls and TQ started to drop a bit when car was getting heat soaked and hotter. We Video Taped Every DYNO pull and showed the computer after the pull to show numbers and it being SAE, STD, and uncorrected... as well as showing the car with NO procede.... you'll actually see me holding PROcede in my hand in front of the camera after the pulls IT would be great if Shiv can develope a map to really take advantage of these downpipes and make more power!! Shiv let us know what you think? They will be posting the DYNO Graphs,Pictures and Videos ASAP as well as releasing information on time frame and Pricing (OK, I cant resist, they are being released very soon and for damn cheap!!)... I'm sorry I can not post them, They are going to post those themselves as they are new to the FORUM and want to show everyone what they are capable of offering the BMW Community for reasonable prices! Remember these Gains are just with the Prototype and with the production piece we should see a bit better flow which might potentially make more power! We will know soon when the first batch comes Enjoy, and please feel free to ask any questions or post comments! Last edited by CASHBY; 08-08-2007 at 11:02 AM.. Reason: typo |

Wow, very nice work CEA. I want to see how much they are going to charge for them, and a DIY to see what a PITA this will be without a lift.

CEA do you think just the DP's will work with the 135i? I'm first on the list for the 135i but I would buy these for my 335i and then switch them. We definately need Shiv to do a tune though, I would think just dp's deleting cats right next to the turbo's would be a better gain then an entire catback itself.

I was expecting these results, but damn, very very impressive. No CEL either. I remember you dropping hints on the forums and asking some locals near you if you if they had an AT. Will there be any fitment issues with the AT? Also, I am assuming you are on 91 octane being in Cali, correct?
Lastly, did you make a dyno pull with the PROcede and current map? I'd would have been hard not to hook it up and make a few pulls Judging from your mods on the Audis, its good to have someone like you eager to help get products out for the BMWs |

We will be making them for the 535 as well.. the 135 is going to be hard to get our hands on, but if someone has one we would love to use it to develop a set for it.... so anyone in socal let me know and you will get a free set for compensation! |

I'd say so, there aren't many cars out there that pick up 50lb/ft AT THE WHEELS!! with only Downpipe. Purely incredible gains.
